Geoff is an international mediator, specializing in the resolution of cross-border commercial disputes in Asia and Europe. Chambers UK recently described him as “truly an international mediator.”
He is based at Maxwell Mediators in Singapore and Brick Court Chambers in London. Geoff is ranked in Chambers UK Bar 2020 and is referred to by Who’s Who Legal as a “mediation megastar.”
Geoff mediates in multiple jurisdictions, with recent experience in mediating insurance, financial sector class actions, country-to-country commercial disputes, and Asian and Middle Eastern oil & gas, energy infrastructure, and construction disputes. In recent years, he has conducted mediations in Singapore, Korea, the UK, the Channel Islands, Switzerland, Australia, and New Zealand.

Geoff is available to mediate cross-border matters virtually and recently resolved an $83 million dispute entirely online.
He is appointed to the International Advisory Board of the Office of the Ombudsman for United Nations Funds and Programmes, joining a small group of global mediators and academics with oversight of the UN’s Global Mediation Panel. Geoff is one of 10 commercial mediators designated to the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) Panel of Conciliators for a six-year term from June 2024, appointed by the Chair and President of The World Bank, Ajay Banga.
Geoff is also a member of the Singapore Mediation Center’s International Panel of Mediators and was appointed a SIMC Ambassador in 2017. Additionally, he is a member of the National Electricity Market of Singapore Dispute Resolution and Compensation Panel. In 2018, he was appointed an inaugural panel member of Japan’s International Mediation Center located in Kyoto, which works closely with the Mainland-Hong Kong Joint Mediation Center (China’s ‘Belt and Road’ initiative).
In November 2019, Geoff was announced by Bali International Arbitration and Mediation Center as one of Asia Pacific’s top 10 mediators. He is APAC Insider’s 2019 ‘Best Commercial Mediator in the Asia-Pacific’ and Lawyer International Legal 100’s ‘Best Commercial Mediator 2019 in the Asia Pacific.’
Previously, Geoff was a litigation partner at Bell Gully and began his legal career in Melbourne with global law firm King & Wood Mallesons. He is admitted to the Bar in New Zealand and Australia (all NZ Courts, the Supreme Court of Victoria, the High Court of Australia, and the Australian Federal Court).
Together with colleagues Lim Tat and Bill Wood KC, Geoff founded Maxwell Mediators based at Maxwell Chambers Suites in downtown Singapore.
